| Info | Michelle R. Shain is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BS in Communications and a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Master of Social Work. She is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class X. Elected to City Council in 1999, Ms. Shain chairs the City's Economic Development Committee. She is a member of the boards of the Peace Center, YWCA, Success by Six, and Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Municipal Association of South Carolina Legislative Committee. Additionally she has served as a member of the Community Health Assessment Cabinet, the Children's Hospital Development Council, Mayor's Recreation Advisory Task Force, Child Watch, Home For New Beginnings, Junior League of Greenville, Partnership for Families and Greenville's Child. Ms. Shain was named one of Greenville's 50 most influential persons for 2003.
