| Info | Colin Carrie was first elected to the House of Commons in June 2004. Prior to entering Parliament, Dr. Carrie co-owned and operated the Lakeridge Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic in Oshawa, Ontario.
The son of a career Naval officer, Dr. Carrie grew up in several cities across Canada, settling in Oshawa when he was fifteen.
Dr. Carrie is a graduate of RS McLaughlin CVI in Oshawa. He went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Waterloo and later graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1989. His Oshawa practice is renowned as a leading chiropractic clinic in Durham Region.
Since becoming a Member of Parliament, Dr. Carrie has served as chair of the Conservative Party of Canada’s Automotive Caucus and has led the Ontario Conservative Caucus’ drive for a new national automotive strategy.
He is a member of the Standing Committee on Health and has strongly advocated for greater choice in personal health care through his Private Member’s legislation, Bill C-420, An Act to Amend the Food and Drugs Act. Through his work on the Health Committee, he has advocated on behalf of Hepatitis C victims as well as families dealing with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), to name a few.
Dr. Carrie appreciates serving both his profession and his community. He is a past executive member of the Durham Chiropractic Society and former chair of Spinal Health Week.
Dr. Carrie is married to wife Elizabeth, with whom he has three young children.
