Info | John Coleman is the owner of a small financial services firm. For more than 20 years he has operated under the name of The Coleman Group which consists of Fairway Mortgage Services, Inc. and Fairway Financial Services, Inc. Through The Coleman Group and affiliated companies, John has provided expert services that clients have come to expect from a lending institution for both residential and commercial lending as well as assisting clients with their investments.
In addition, John is a registered mortgage broker, registered mortgage originator and registered representative holding investment and insurance licenses. Prior to and after re-locating to Dauphin County, John amassed extensive experience in financial institutional services and operations for twenty eight year, servicing the New York City and Harrisburg markets, after which he became an independent financial services consultant servicing clients in multiple states for more than twenty years.
John was born in the Virginia farm belt, grew up in New York City and relocated to Central Pennsylvania in 1979 along with his wife and two sons. He was educated in the New York City Public School system and studied finance and financial management while attending the American Institute of Banking in New York City.
John is a dedicated member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a senior member of the trustee ministry and finance committee for more than fifteen years. He is a founding member of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Pennsylvania where he held several offices including; Treasurer, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
John enjoys working with young people and is particularly interested in mentoring and developing those in his community by encouraging them to seek career paths in the financial services industries; banking, investment, insurance, real estate, lending etc. He also enjoys spending time with his family and has seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
