Larry Elder has hosted anti-vax promoters on his show and written supportively about the Big Lie. Faulconer is the only acceptable option. I'm opposed to recalls on principle, but I'm hopeful Faulconer can somehow build up his base in San Diego and beat Elder if the recall does succeed.

I agree his, at the very least, willingness to accept this election fraud line has completely turned me off from Elder and which is why I still support Faulconer. Although on vaccines it’s worth nothing Elder, has gotten the vaccine and has spoken positively about it, but the anti vaccine person he stood behind doesn’t help the effort one bit.

If Faulconer were dominating the replacement vote like Arnold did during the Davis recall, it would give the recall vote a greater chance of passage. Given the choice between Newsom and a random not necessarily qualified conservative Republican, keeping Newsom seems like the obvious choice for Californians.

What are you see happening with Newsom getting Democrats to turn out? Are there ads? GOTV effort?
Although I don't watch broadcast TV, I understand there are alot of ads tying the recall to Trump and Republicans. GOTV will be key but with all mail voting, it will be relatively easy to pester those voters who haven't sent their ballots in yet. Even if Democrats aren't as engaged as Republicans it doesn't take alot of effort to fill in one bubble and drop the ballot (postage paid) into the mail.

Newsom knows he's never gonna get to be the President (how many more White men are going to obtain the Democratic Presidential nomination?)
Since the governor's office was always just intended as a stepping stone to the White House, Newsom probably doesn't much care anymore.

I'm obviously a little late with this idea, but it would have been fun to run (as a Democrat) in this race with the explicit promise that if elected I would immediately resign to let the Lieutenant Governor become the new governor. That is the obvious work-around for our stupid recall law.
