In her announcement, Pekarsky claims that "Nearly 94% of New 36th District Has No Incumbent Running". Barker's previous district is only around 6% of the new district, with Clifton, where Barker lives, being the only area he represented in the new district, but still likely to be a tough matchup for Pekarsky as Barker has been in the State Senate for over a decade at this point. the ones who retired in 2022 are not eligible, so doug ducey or tom wolf are examples of former governors who cannot be nominated.

All current sitting governors that weren't up in 2022 (Ex: Youngkin, Roy Cooper, etc.) and all governors who were elected or re-elected in 2022. so desantis can be nominated.

You can pick up to 7 in the poll that IndyGeorgia put in the post above. You can choose not to vote for Shapiro if you want but multiple people chose him to advance from the initial round so he is in the poll for that reason. From a possible reason why he was nominated, he won by almost 15 points in a swing state and even though it was Mastriano, that's still quite impressive as the electorate is quite polarized nowadays and likely contributed to Democrats' successes in other races in PA.

there will be probably be a vote on this race in early 2023. governors elected in nov 2022 will be eligible for selection. for example, in PA, Josh Shapiro will be a choice but not Tom Wolf.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the right Tim Kearney. The Tim Kearney who ran in HD172 from 2004-2010 appears to be different than the Tim Kearney who was the Mayor of Swarthmore and State Senator
