| Description |
Electors from the state of South Carolina were appointed by the state legislature (and not elected in a popular vote). The legislature elected the Presidential Electors on the same date that other states cast the popular vote. The legislature chose the Electors mostly unanimously, and it also unanimously instructed the Electors to vote for the national Democratic ticket.
