Description |
The 36th district used to be one of the most competitive in the state. However today, due to redistricting among other political realities the GOP threw in the towel.
Incumbent Paul Sarlo is at the top of his game, he is Chair of the Budget Committee and has formed strong alliances with senators on both sides of the isle.
Republican Chris Auriemma originally filed to run, but when Sarlo alleged he had committed fraud by filing incorrect petitions he withdrew his name from the ballot opting to run a write-in campaign. Perhaps the GOP is waiting for re-districting in 2023 to give Sarlo a run for his money.
