Description |
Fresh from losing the Governor's mansion, 1 senate and two assembly seats in 2017, and then losing 4 seats in Congress in 2018 New Jersey republicans where motivated to stop the bleeding in 2019.
In January of that year Dawn Addiego, a member of the Senate republican leadership team switched her party after her former allies in the Burlington County GOP where wiped out in a single election cycle.
Outraged, republicans started a recall attempt, but it failed. Two years after her party switch republicans have recruited popular Assemblywoman Jean Stanfield to take on Addiego. In what will likely be the closest legislative election of the year, Senate President Steve Sweeney looks to tighten his his hold on South Jersey. While republican leaders want to prove they can stop the bleeding the Jersey suburbs.
