Description |
Elected in a 2019 special election, incumbent Mike Testa (R-Vineland) has become a rising star in state GOP politics.
The district's democrats backed Yolanda Garcia-Balicki, a Vineland based attorney with political connections throughout Cumberland County.
Testa has proven to be a formidable opponent with a large warchest, new found popularity by republicans and democrats, and a surprising alliance with Senate President Steve Sweeney. Democrats are daunted by the uphill battle, Testa’s broad appeal and Governor Phil Murphy’s unpopularity in the district may spell doom for the democrats.
