| Description |
On Tuesday, the council also reviewed four applications from people who would like to replace Kane, who represented the Rose Hall district. The council selected two finalists and will let the public comment on them next Tuesday. The council plans to make its final choice after interviewing those candidates on May 7.
Here are the candidates:
Michael Berlucchi, a community engagement manager at the Chrysler Museum of Art, who is also a member of the Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission. He is a LBGTQ rights activist and is the former president of the Hampton Roads Pride Board Directors.
Seko Varner operates a workforce development program for Tidewater Community College and runs an entertainment company. Last year, he unsuccessfully ran for the School Board.
