The Official Vote Cast at the General Election of November 3, 1914 manuscript book does not supply the official numbers for both Baldwin and Byrne. Neither does the Illinois Blue Book edition 1915-1916. The race was contested and not decided until early 1915 after a costly recount. Baldwin was declared the winner.
Knaus's votes were 3,029.
