BBC Constituency Profile:
Many areas were hit hard by the decline of Glasgow's shipbuilding industry, but the effects were felt particularly hard in the city's south west constituency. Govan remains home to a working shipyard and one of the country's first industrial estates, at Hillingdon, while the constituency is marked by post-war social housing.
The areas of Govan, Mosspark and Ibrox - the latter home to Rangers Football Club - can be found in this seat, as well as areas like Nitshill, a former coal pit village.
The Glasgow South West seat, created in 2005, largely takes in the old Pollok constituency, which has been represented by Labour's Ian Davidson since 1997. Mr Davidson held the seat in 2010 with a majority of 14,671 votes.
