Description One of two constituencies in the Granite City, Aberdeen North is largely made up of urban and working-class estates, like Seaton, Linksfield, Balgownie and Tillydrone.
It also includes the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary medical complex, which is the size of a small town. The campus includes a teaching hospital, maternity hospital, children's hospital and a research facility which serves as a base to some of the UK's leading experts on multiple sclerosis.
Other landmarks include Aberdeen University and Pittodrie Stadium, home to Aberdeen Football Club.Despite being substantially redrawn in the past two decades, the voters of Aberdeen North have continually sent Labour representatives to Westminster. Frank Doran, who held the seat in 2010 with an 8,361 vote majority, is stepping down, with north east MSP Richard Baker named as the seat's next Labour candidate
