BBC Constituency Profile:
Situated in north London is the seat of Finchley and Golders Green - best known for its former MP, Margaret Thatcher. The constituency is affluent and professional. Leafy Hampstead Garden Suburb is very wealthy, while pockets around East Finchley and Childs Hill are relatively deprived.
The seat is home to the largest Jewish community in the country - just over one in five of the population describes themselves as Jewish - the highest proportion of any constituency in England and Wales, according to ONS 2011 Census figures. Almost half the adult population have a degree and half have a professional, managerial or technical job.
Margaret Thatcher was the Conservative MP here between 1959 and 1992. Labour took over in 1997 and Conservative Mike Freer retook the seat in 2010. At that election he held the seat with 46% of the votes; Labour got 33.7%, Liberal Democrats 17% and UKIP 1.7%.
