BBC Constituency Profile:
Situated in west London is the seat of Feltham and Heston - the gateway to London Heathrow Airport. The constituency is a mixture of quiet suburban neighbourhoods with patches of industrial estates - it is also home to a youth offenders' institution.
Heathrow is a major source of employment here with one in six of the population working in transport and storage - the highest proportion of any constituency in England and Wales, according to ONS 2011 Census figures. Service, accommodation and communications' industries are also important. The seat is multi-faith and multi-cultural - more than half the population is non-white, a fifth are Indian.
In 2010, Labour's Alan Keen held the seat with 43.6% of the votes; Conservatives got 34%, Liberal Democrats 13.7% and BNP 3.5%. But following his death in 2011 and the subsequent by-election, Labour's Seema Malhotra kept the seat with 54.4% of the votes, pushing the Conservatives into second place.
