BBC Constituency Profile:
Situated in West London is the seat of Ealing Southall, famous for its large Asian community. Over half the population is Asian - the majority from India - the sixth highest proportion of all constituencies in England and Wales, according to ONS 2011 Census figures.
Many residents are Hindu or Muslim, but Ealing Southall has the highest proportion of Sikh residents in the land. It is also home to one of the largest Sikh temples outside India. More people in this constituency work at Heathrow Airport than any other - almost one in 10 works in transport and storage; one in six works in retail.
Ealing Southall has been a Labour stronghold for well over half a century. Piara Khabra became the first Asian to represent the community between 1992-2007. In 2010, Labour's Virendra Sharma held the seat with 51.5% of the votes; Conservatives got 29.8%, Liberal Democrats 14.9% and Greens 1.6%.
