| Description |
On Election Day incumbent mayor Duax led Wright 10,203 to 10,176. After a recount and irregularities found in one of the cities 33 precincts Wright was declared the winner. The one precinct in question was tallied for Wright giving him 193 votes, the voting judge accidentally tallied it as 139 votes. Wright was declared the winner on November 14.
