Description |
The Prohibition National Convention met in Columbus OH. There were 147 delegates casting 108 votes at the convention. Herman P. Faris MO was nominated for President on the first ballot. A.P. Gouttey WA was nominated for VP on the first ballot by a vote of 78.5 to 22.5 for Marie C. Brehm and 7 for Alfred L. Moody IN. Gouttey immediately declined to run, and Brehm was nominated unanimously on the second ballot (all 108 votes). Brehm was the first woman nominated for VP to appear on the ballot.
