The 2d Whig Party National Convention was held in the Universalist Church Building in Baltimore MD. There were 275 delegates present, representing all states.
Temporary Chairman: Andrew F. Hopkins AL
Permanent Chairman: Ambrose Spencer NY
Henry Clay KY was nominated unanimously for President on the first ballot.
Theodore Frelinghuysen NJ was nominated for VP by a vote of 155 to 76 for John Davis MA, 40 for Millard Fillmore NY, and 2 not voting.
