| Description |
Primary for the special election to fill the one-year unexpired term of County Clerk Barbara Blix. Democrat Kay Holland was appointed to the position in January after having served for 14 years as deputy clerk.
Novoselic, then a local Democratic PCO, filed to run under the Grange Party to protest the Top Two Primary allowing a candidate to claim a party or organization without their consent. The Washington State Grange had been a strong supporter of the primary when it was on the ballot as an initiative in 2004. He dropped out a week later and Holland, whom he always intended to vote for anyway, was advanced to the November ballot as the only candidate.
