BBC Profile:
Twickenham was a longstanding Conservative seat after 1945 but was taken by the Liberal Democrats' Vince Cable in 1997. Cable increased his share of the vote in both 2001 and 2005, securing a majority of 9,965 at the last general election.
There are no boundary changes affecting this seat.
A leafy, largely residential constituency on the banks of the Thames in south west London, Twickenham is best known as the home of English rugby.
Twickenham's rugby stadium holds 82,000 people. It also doubles as a music venue and acts such as U2 and Rod Stewart have played there.
The constituency also includes the communities of Teddington and Hampton, including Hampton Court Palace, and tourism plays its part in its economy.
Twickenham lies directly below the flight paths to and from Heathrow Airport.
