Description |
The Silver Republican Party assembled in the Auditorium, Kansas City MO, at the same time as the Democratic National Convention held in the same city. There were 1,200 delegates present from 24 states and territories.
The party's national chairman, Charles A. Towne MN, had already been nominated for VP by the Populist Party with William J. Bryan, and the Silver Republican convention sent a delegation to the Democratic National Convention to accomplish the same goal. When the DNC nominated Adlai Stevenson for VP, the Silver Republican endorsed Bryan for President but did not nominate a candidate for VP.
Convention Chairman: Henry M. Teller CO
