Description |
Due to a filing error made by the Democratic judicial convention, there were only Republican and Liberal candidates on the ballot in this race. The first six candidates were endorsed by the Republican and Liberal parties.
The 10 disqualified Democratic candidates: James J. Leff, Amos E. Bowman, Jawn Sandifer, Arnold G. Fraiman, Edward J. Greenfield, Bruce Wright, Felice K. Shea, Carmen B. Ciparick, Ira Gammerman and Budd G. Goodman.
The first 5 were elected as Republican/Liberal candidates, the next 3 were elected as Liberal candidates, and the last 2 were left off the ballot entirely (the last 2 were elected to the New York State Supreme Court in 1983)
