On July 18, 2005, the City Council approved Councilmember Toni Atkins as Mayor Pro Tem. Toni Atkins has full authority to carry out the responsibilities of Mayor until a permanent Mayor Pro Tem is elected next week, until and unless the City Council votes to replace the Mayor Pro Tem.
