Description |
The Republicans won a 52-45% victory in U.S. Senate races in 1952. This translated to a gain of two seats, as the two major parties traded a number of seats. Two Senators also declared themselves Independent before Congress assembled, with the result that the new Senate had 48 Republicans, 46 Democrats, and two Independents.
