Description |
The Democrats emerged as the winners of the 1926 elections. Everyone expected the Democrats to gain some seats, since the GOP had won all seats outside the South in 1920. In all, the Democrats gained five GOP seats, moving almost to parity; the Senate stood at 48 Republicans, 46 Democrats, one Farmer Labor, and one vacancy.
