Longtime State Senator Ciesla was considered somewhat vulnerable in 2001, but held on semi-comfortably while several others did not.
Ciesla has a Republican district, but it is not overwhelmingly so. He will no doubt work to make the case that he deserves to be re-elected yet again in 2003. His opponent will be Democrat Paul Brush.
