This was a tough prediction to make but I’m going with an upset. Zuckerman isn’t exactly a powerhouse, he lost in a landslide for Governor in 2020 and the Republican nominee is a longterm former Democrat State Senator who has the endorsement of the most recent Dem Governor. I’ll put my prediction with Vermont being Vermont and showing its ability to split parties for Governor and Lieutenant Governor.

Would be interesting if Rodgers wins. The VTGOP would essentially have a successor in the waits for Scott if needed.

I'm assuming Rodgers is a moderate Republican like Scott?

Luzerne County Historian: I'm assuming Rodgers is a moderate Republican like Scott?

Likely. He is. A former VT Democratic State Senator.

The Vermont Legislature gets to choose who becomes VT Lt Gov since neither candidate reached a majority, and the Green Mountain Peace and Justice Party has endorsed Zuckerman for when the selection happens

They don't endorse capitalist candidates but do endorse over-riding the democratic outcome of elections and the will of the electorate. Makes sense.

Rodgers will win legislature vote.

Luzerne County Historian: What a weird rule.
Not only weird but archaic and undemocratic, it should be repealed.

I think it's a good thing that in some states, election for Governor and Lt Governor are seperate.

Due to neither winning 50% of the vote, a legislative vote was triggered.

Rodgers won the legislative secret ballot vote by 158-18 over incumbent David Zuckerman.

Alright, Time for me to go tinfoil hat and figure out who those 18 are....

First the 5 people who's primary affiliation is the Progressive Party:
-Brian Cina
-Troy Headrick
-Kate Logan
-Chloe Tomlinson
-Tanya Vyhovsky

Next the 9 people who's SECONDARY Affiliation is the Progressive Party:
-Kesha Ram Hinsdale
-Philip Baruth
-Andrew Perchlik
-Anne Watson
-Barbara Rachelson
-Kate McCann
-Conor Casey
-Mike Mrowicki
-Esme Cole

And I would add Laura Sibilia to the pot because she has advocated for RCV, which would have more than likely led to Zuckerman winning.

Keep in mind this is all speculation and only adds to 15 anyways, these things should not be secret

I would like to congratulate future governor John Rodgers on his win. They finally found someone to replace Phil Scott when he retires.
