A change to the constitution in 2019 allows the victor of this presidential election to serve for six years instead of the previous four. Candidates have until October 14, 2023 by 2pm (Egypt Time) to file their candidacies. The National Election Authority revealed the names of the final candidates on November 9, 2023. A second round planned for January 6-10, 2024 was cancelled. Final results were announced on January 16, 2024.
President El-Sisi was sworn in on July 2, 2024 and took office of July 3, 2024 [Link]
