Description | Center-right, Osaka-based reformist party and successor of the defunct Japan Innovation Party launched on August 1, 2014 and dissolved on March 27, 2016. Party name in Japanese translates as the "Japan Restoration Party," which is not to be confused with the the (old) Japan Restoration Party, founded in 2012 and dissolved in July 31, 2014. Party calls for small government, regulatory reform, and decentralization. Party picked up 41 seats in the House of Representatives after elections held on October 31, 2021 and 19 seats in the House of Councillors.
