| Description | Classical Marxist and oldest party in Iraq still in operation. Party may have been formed earlier (1924) as a Marxist 'study circle'. It was later fully 'absorbed' into the Soviet war-effort before, during and after WW II while Iraq was occupied by the British.
Party is aligned with the Saairun Bloc, which includes the Shi’a Islamist Sadrist Integrity Party (or 'Sadrists') in the Iraqi parliament. |
