DescriptionLeft-wing nationalist party which began as a right-of-center health-focused association called the "Integral Front of Health Professionals" (FIPS) in 2010 made up of 15 doctors led by Iván Espinel. Espinel would in February 2016 craft the association into a personal political platform and legalize it as a party on August 18, 2016. Espinel ran for president in 2017 as an avowed opponent of Rafael Correa and the 'correismo' supported by rival Lenin Moreno, only to turn around to support Moreno in return for a cabinet position. After Espinel resigned his cabinet position amid allegations of corruption, party underwent years of turmoil until it was (ironically) absorbed by allies of Rafael Correa and renamed the Revolución Ciudadana (Citizen Revolution Movement, RC) on August 28, 2021 [Movimiento Fuerza Compromiso Social (FCS)].
