Description | Coalition of six parties led by the United Democratic Party (UDP) and one individual opposed to the strongman rule of Gambian President Yahya Jammeh. The coalition backed the UDP's former deputy treasurer and leader (and future president) Adama Barrow in the presidential election of 2016, who chose to stand as an independent. Coalition consisted of the People's Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS), the National Reconciliation Party (NRP), the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC), the National Convention Party (NCP), the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and the Gambia Party for Democracy and Progress (GPDP). Coalition voiced support for a Barrow second-term on September 27, 2019, ahead of presidential elections planned for December 4, 2021.
