Centrist party known popularly as MNRD-Hankuri identified with Niger's fourth President (April 16, 1993 – January 27, 1996) Mahamane Ousmane. MNRD-Hankuri nominated Ousmane for President again in 2016. Party joined in alliance with the 'Party for Socialism and Democracy in Niger' that same year, and picked up a combined six seats in Niger's parliament.
The MNRD Hankuri formed an alliance with one of Ousmane's other political vehicles, the Democratic and Republican Renewal, RDR Tchanji, on December 16, 2018.
Party is led by Sidi Moulaye Harouna Hambali [Movement Nigérien pour le Renouveau Démocratique, MNRD-Hankuri].
