DescriptionSmall, conservative nationalist party formed by retired army officers, which succeeded in making a mark on the electoral scene by attracting popular TV actor Jimmy Morales to be its leader on March 10, 2013. Party managed to take the presidency after elections held on September 6, 2015 with Morales as its nominee. Morales became Guatemala's 50th president on January 14, 2016. Party tried to re-ignite popular interest by nominating Jimmy Morales' brother Sammy as its presidential candidate in 2023. Party was forced to dissolve by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal on January 8, 2024, joining 10 other political parties that did not reach a minimum number of votes in the June 25, 2023 General Elections [Frente de Convergencia Nacional ((FCN-Nación)].
