Left-of-center party representing Russian minority interests in Latvia. Party was the result of a merger of four left-leaning parties in 2009, the People's Harmony Party (NSP), the New Center, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and (in January 2011) the Daugavpils City Party (DPP). Party was launched by the Chairman of the Riga City Council Nils Ušakovs and Jānis Urbanovičs, who is also leader of the party. Saskana holds 23 seats in the Saiema (as of elections held on October 6, 2018) and is competitive in many municipal councils [Sociāldemokrātiskā partija "Saskaņa" (SDPS); also known as "Consistency" and the "Socialist Party for Harmony"]
