DescriptionOne-time Socialist party turned center-right active in Santa Fe Province. Party was launched as the Southern league (Liga Del Sur) in 1908 by National Senator and La República founder Lisandro de la Torre. De la Torre postulated the ideas of municipal autonomy for Argentina. These ideas were added to the Constitution promulgated in 1994. De la Torre was nominated president ahead of the 1916 elections and ran again under the Democratic-Socialist Alliance. Party is a member of the Juntos por el Cambio and is led by Ana Copes [Partido Demócrata Progresista (PDP)].
