DescriptionCentrist to center-left party founded by the controversial Manuel Baldizón, who was the party's candidate for President in 2015. Baldizón led out a number of MPs from the National Unity of Hope (UNE) in 2008 after disputes with its leadership. Party picked up 44 seats in the 158-seat Congress before rumors swirled that the party was infiltrated by drug trafficking groups. Party was shut down by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal in 2016. Party was led by its secretary general Roberto Villate [Libertad Democrática Renovada (LIDER)].
