DescriptionCenter-right, classically-liberal party begun as the National Solidarity Party (PSN) formed to support the presidential candidacy of Óscar Berger ahead of the Guatemalan general elections of 2003. Party co-founded the Gran Alianza Nacional (Grand National Alliance), formed as a party on June 26, 2005, with the (now defunct) Patriot Party (PP), the Movement 17 and the Reform Movement (MR), but wound up by 2015 the only member of the alliance after its co-founders departed. Alliance had a strong start, taking 47 seats in the Guatemalan Congress out of 158 in 2004. Party then collapsed to eight seats by 2012. Party attempted to resurrect itself on July 31, 2017 after falling to zero seats, but gave it up by 2018 and dissolved itself on September 28, 2018 [Gran Alianza Nacional (GANA)].
