Liberal to center-right party formed by former members of the National Democratic League's (NDL) Central Executive Committee to compete in the 2010 general election. Party was founded by the NDL's chief executive, Than Nyein (died on May 21, 2014), who was known as a proponent for a proportional representation voting system in Burma. Party was then led by U Khin Maung Swe who became a Central Advisory Member of the State Planning and Administration Council on February 1, 2023. On November 23, 2023, The NDF complied with new rules in 2023 forcing parties to re-register or face dissolution. Party will compete in national elections planned in 2024 [အမျိုးသား ဒီမိုကရေစီ အင်အားစု (NDF)].
