Islamist Party founded by Muhammad Ijaz-ul-Haq, who led the party from February 2010 to March 19, 2023 Ijaz-ul-Haq is the son of General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s military leader and 6th President from 1978 to 1988. Party is self-described as a "far-right wing and pro-Islamism political party." Party was one of five factions of the original Pakistan Muslim League, which later broke off to form political parties of their own. Party at first joined the dissident faction, the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), before establishing itself as the fifth known 'breakaway' faction turned party. Party merged with ex Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on March 19, 2023, and appeared to have dissolved itself. Continued controversy over PM Khan's ouster and jailing in 2023 brought the Pakistan Muslim League (ZIA) back to life and Ijaz-ul-Haq's return. Party participated in legislative elections held in 2024 [Pakistan Muslim League (Zia-ul-Haq Shaheed) and PML(Z)].
