| Description | Centrist, Christian-democratic party also known as the 'Democratic Alert'. Party was founded by officials of the United and Progressive parties on the initiative of Glafkos Clerides, the 4th President of Cyprus (February 28, 1993 - February 28, 2003), who was also the first leader of the Cypriot Parliament. Party is one of four dominant in Cyprus and holds 17 out of 56 seats in parliament. Party has been led by 2023 presidential candidate Averof Neophytou since May 11, 2013 [Δημοκρατικός Συναγερμός; Dimokratikós Sinagermós (DISY)]. |
