| Description | Center-left party founded by Ilir Meta, president of Albania from July 24, 2017 to July 24, 2022, and its Prime Minister from October 29, 1999 to January 29, 2002. Meta led the party until internal disputes brought about his ouster in 2013. Meta returned indirectly in 2021 by installing through allies his wife, former First Lady of Albania Monika Kryemadhi, who ran the party from July 5, 2017 to July 25, 2022 while Meta was president of Albania. Meta retook leadership of the party after the expiration of his presidential term on July 24, 2022 and reworked the party's platform to move center-right. Party was then re-registered and rebranded the Freedom Party of Albania (Partia e Lirisë së Shqipërisë) by unanimous vote of its Party Congress on July 25, 2022 [Lëvizja Socialiste për Integrim (LSI)]. |
