Right-of-center 'Europeanist' party founded by Nikolai Ilyich Travkin and one of only three permitted within the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic of the USSR until its demise and renaming to the Russian Federation on December 25, 1991. Party's advocacy for Russia's integration into the European Union beginning in 2007 brought about a forced integration into the Right Cause party and dissolution in November 15, 2008. Remnants of the party lingered on as a 'public organization' called the "The Andrey Bogdanov Center." The Center re-transformed itself into a party on February 12, 2012 and registered on May 10, 2012. Party holds 14 out of 450 seats in the Duma. Party has been led by Alexander Zorin since January 2021 [Демократическая партия России (ДПР)].
