| Description | One of two dominant center-right parties in Liechtenstein. Party was formed of a merger between the Liechtenstein Homeland Service (LHD) and the People's Party (VP) in 1936. Party has maintained 8 seats in the 25-seat Landtag since elections held in 2013 and has co-governed the Principality with the Progressive Citizens' Party (FBP) since March 27, 2013. Party has been led by journalist and politician Günther Fritz since November 13, 2015. Party is known in Liechtenstein as the Fatherland Union [Vaterländische Union (VU)] but translated as the Patriotic Union elsewhere, for unknown reasons. |
