DescriptionRight-of-center party better known as RDP-Jama'a founded and led by Niger's former Prime Minister (1983 to 1988) Hamid Algabid. RDP-Jama'a was Niger's ruling party during the three-year presidency of Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara (cut short by his assassination by coup plotters on April 9, 1999). Party was considered a successor to the defunct National Union of Independents for Democratic Renewal (UNIRD), which was established as a platform to support Maïnassara's political ambitions in 1996. Party held two seats in the 166-seat National Assembly after elections in 2020. Party was forcibly dissolved on March 26, 2025 [Rassemblement pour la Démocratie et le Progrès (RDP-Jama'a)].
