Animal welfare "green' party launched as the Democratic Party of Greens founded by members of the Parliamentary Club of the Green Party (SZ). Party changed its name in January 2019. The current chairman of the party is Jiří Anderle, a representative of the township of Klenčí pod Čerchov. Party announced in April 2024 that it would take part in the 2024 European Parliament elections and place candidates in all 13 regions of the Czech Republic ahead of regional and municipal elections planned for September 20-21, 2024. The electoral leader of the party is Hana Janišová [Demokratická strana zelených – Za práva zvířat (DSZ); DSZ - For the Rights of Animals].
