| Description | Center-left Turkish-nationalist party founded and chaired by former Turkey Consul General and 101-day hostage of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant Öztürk Yılmaz. Yılmaz' experience as a hostage in Iraq taught him the importance of separating and distinguishing Turkey from the Arab nations and the Turkish language from the Arabic, especially in the call to prayer, views which brought about his expulsion from the Republican People's Party (CHP) where he was previously a member and deputy in Parliament. Party has one seat in the Grand National Assembly [Yenilik Partisi (YP)]. |
