| Description | Centrist party and political vehicle formed and chaired by journalist and TV personality Ravi Lamichhane with the aim of attracting self-identified independent candidates and other party leaders willing to compete under the National Independent name. Lamichhane was removed as chairman on January 27, 2023 by Nepal’s Supreme Court, which also removed him as deputy prime minister, home affairs minister and took away his parliamentary seat, for violating citizenship laws. Lamichhane was succeeded as party chairman by Dol Prasad Aryal, Nepal's Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security [राष्ट्रिय स्वतन्त्र पार्टी; Rastriya Swatantra Party]. |
