Center-right electoral alliance founded and led by former President Charles de Gaulle (until his death in 1970) which joined his Union of Democrats for the Republic (UDR) with the Independent Republicans (RI) and the
Centre démocratie et progrès (CDP) ahead of legislative elections held in 1967, 1968 and 1973. Subsequent alliances under the UDC banner have mixed and re-mixed a number of right-of-center and centrist parties. The UDC alliance formed in 2024 consists of five national parties and three regional. It presently holds 165 seats in the 348 Senate and 68 seats in the 577-seat National Assembly. Alliance has been led by the President of The Republicans (Les Républicains, LR) since December 2022, Éric Ciotti [Union de la droite et du centre (UDC)].
